My Story

Authentic Temazcal in Tulum, group sharing songs and the sacred fire.
Lizeth Tulum Temazcal
Janzu Water Treatment in the Caribbean in Tulum. MX. Guest floating weightlessly in the embrace of the ocean.

My name is Lizeth. I was named Quetzalli in our tradition. I was born a Leo in the busy heart of Mexico City. I went to university and studied Marketing. I worked for big corporations and chased their deadlines. I worked long hours that left me empty. I felt that I was missing the life I was meant to live.

On August 17th, 2005 I walked away. I left that life to start again.

I traveled to the East to search for meaning. I studied the ways of Buddhism and learned the silence of Vipassana meditation. I sat in many retreats. But the path brought me back to the wisdom of my own earth. I found the Moon Dance. It is a gathering of women honoring our Mexica traditions. This gift opened the door to my work as a Temazcalera. I founded Medicine Wheel Tulum to help others find their footing. I live and work here in Tulum. I walk the ancestral path every day.

You do not need to run. Even the smallest steps, taken one by one, will carry you across the world.
