The Slow Wisdom of Herbal Baths
When the winds of life grow heavy, when loss and weariness touch our hearts, the Earth offers her arms, her healing gifts, to guide us back to balance. The elders knew this well—those wise ones who came before us, listening to the whispers of the plants, knowing that each carries a message, a remedy, a way forward. Today, I share with you the wisdom of the herbs, how their spirits come together in sacred baths to cleanse, soothe, and bring you back to the heart.
The Mother of Tides
We call her Metztli. We call her Abuela. She is the oldest woman in the sky and she has a heavy job. She is responsible for dragging the great oceans back and forth across the belly of the earth.
The Wisdom of the Stars
The sky is not just sky. It is memory. It is language. It is the breath of our ancestors moving through time.
Before we had clocks or calendars, we had the stars. We watched them rise, shift, return. The elders did not need a watch to understand what time it was. They looked up, and they listened. The stars told them when to plant, when to harvest, when to rest, when to pray.
Cacao : Food of the Gods
Come close, hermana. Let me share the story of a gift so sacred it was once the only currency that mattered. Cacao is no ordinary seed. It is the life of the heart, a treasure carried by the spirit of the Earth to heal the places we have forgotten. The old ones called it the "blood of the earth" because they knew it carried the heat of the sun and the memory of the rain. It was never meant to be a candy. It was always a prayer.
The Four Directions
I, Quetzalli, daughter of the sacred mountains, speak of the Wheel of Life. It is the circle, the sacred circle, that turns like the seasons and like the steps of the ancient ones. I see it not only with my eyes, but with my heart, for it is in the heart that all truths are revealed.
